• Proven experience of successfully managing a tech driven operational efficiency project from conception to launch, and beyond (ideally Prince 2 qualified)
  • An ability able to create and manage a small team (from existing staff), who may be remote working and have constraints on their time
  • To be financially astute and both a strategic and tactical thinker
  • A self-starter who is detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Have an understanding of a broad and dispersed customer and staff based environment would be advantageous
  • Ability to deliver operational excellence combined with sound commercial reasoning
  • Ability to work independently but seek guidance from relevant stakeholders

We have just entered the third year of an ambitious five year strategic plan. A core part of our plan for year 3 is to focus on driving operational efficiency as a tool to enable further growth, improve customer service, and improve margin.
We have identified a small number of processes in which we believe we can be more efficient through introducing technology. We are therefore looking for an experienced project manager to review our processes, scope the market to identify the optimal solution, and manage the implementation and normalisation within our operating model. We anticipate that this will be a nine month project and are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. There is a possibility that the role may turn permanent after successful completion of the project.

The Project Manager will create, lead, and manage a small project team that will successfully develop and implement operational efficiency within the way we work. It will include:

  • Validate the opportunity; how we currently work, the needs of our stakeholders (internal and external), what solutions are available on the market, value for money, and operational viability.
  • Create and deliver a clear project plan, with milestone objectives, within an agreed budget
  • Create an agreed business plan that takes the project from development through to implementation, bedding in, and becoming business as usual
  • Determine the resources required to implement. Identify development needs from within the existing staff base, and any external resourcing needs. Oversee the delivery of the resourcing requirements
  • Determine and oversee the implementation of the new processes, manage internal communications and any changes to the way customers liaise with the company
  • Transition the project from concept to BAU to ensure continuity and long term success
  • Report to the Board on progress at predetermined intervals

The ideal candidate will be detail orientated with a strong professional attitude.  They will be down to earth, resilient, delivery-focused, fast-paced, collaborative and able to work as part of a team.
