Eville & Jones is sponsoring fifteen talented, enthusiastic, flexible vets on the upcoming Official Veterinarian Course at the prestigious University of Bristol. Authorised by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the programme is run by the internationally famous Bristol Veterinary School, which was recently confirmed one of the best in the world by the highly respected OS World University Rankings by Subject 2020.
This fantastic opportunity to advance your career will see you study online at home, 7th to 18th September, before choosing from a wide range of top Official Veterinarian (OV) roles across England and Wales immediately afterwards. Our unbeatable employment package includes attractive salary and benefits, accommodation, car and all IT and equipment needed.
Registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) is essential for enrolment on the course. Key qualities for an Eville & Jones OV are, excellent written and spoken English; ability to work without supervision; demonstrable leadership skills; and effective relationship building with internal and external customers.
Our vets deliver Official Controls (OC) in red and white meat slaughterhouses across England and Wales to verify that produce is safe for human consumption. They provide technical advice, direction and leadership to plant inspection teams – ensuring efficient, uninterrupted, consistent delivery of OC and associated, legally defined, safeguards.
OVs enjoy more regular hours than practice vets, for better work-life balance. As frontline keyworkers who are vital for public health, animal welfare and the economy, we know our vets are the most important part of our company – and a dedicated support team looks after them extremely well.
Continuous training and development will equip you with the most relevant, up-to-the minute skills and being with the largest supplier of veterinarians to the UK meat industry means you can progress as far and as fast as your abilities and energies allow.
