As part of our Local Heroes Project, E&J has donated four walkie-talkies to Cats Protection Derbyshire Cat Centre. The new equipment will help staff communicate more efficiently across the site, enabling them to focus on what matters most – finding loving homes for cats and kittens.

Pictured is Daniel Bowles, one of our Export Official Veterinarians, alongside the Derbyshire Cat Centre team. Daniel has volunteered with the centre for over 10 years, supporting fundraising efforts and helping cats in need before, during, and after his university studies. His long-standing commitment highlights how our colleagues make a difference not only professionally, but personally within the communities we serve.

E&J already has strong links with Cats Protection and continues to support their work in a number of ways. As part of last year’s charity fundraiser, colleagues helped raise over £2,000 for Cats Protection, further supporting their vital work across the UK.

The Derbyshire Cat Centre is responsible for finding forever homes for cats across the region, going to great lengths to match each cat’s individual needs to an environment that is best suited to meeting their requirements. The centre also plays a vital local role through neutering and population control, disease prevention, and educating the public on responsible cat ownership. This work helps ensure cats live healthier lives while promoting a compassionate approach to animal welfare.

Through initiatives like the Local Heroes Project, we are proud to support local charities and the important work they do. Even small contributions can make a real difference.
