Senior Payroll Administrator


Eville & Jones is the leading supplier of official veterinary controls throughout Europe. We are committed to the safeguarding of public health and to maintaining the food supply chain through all our essential activities, while ensuring the protection of animal welfare.

Whilst our team of experts are out in the field ensuring animal welfare standards are met within the UK and that the meat is safe to enter the food chain, we have a team of heroes back at head office that cover the central support functions.

Due to our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to join the Eville & Jones Payroll team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Payroll, the role will focus on supporting the end payroll processes for circa 800 employees to ensure that they are paid correctly and on time. The position will also provide pensions and general administrative support.

Working to strict deadlines you will support in processing the groups monthly and four weekly payrolls and be involved in the receipt and checking of weekly timesheets and resolving any queries.

You will maintain the Payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating and inputting data, you will also be processing sickness and other absence in line with company policies.

Involved in processing overtime payments; payroll deductions; permanent and variable elements as well as payrolling benefits in kind and statutory payments you will also be involved in the processing of tax year end and annual reporting including P11D’s.

You will also administer joiners and leaders to the Group Personal Pension Plan and will support with other ad hoc general administrative tasks.

What are we looking for?

You should have experience of managing end to end payroll processes with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

With the ability to work in a team environment and independently, you should be resilient and enjoy working in a time sensitive environment.

You should have strong Excel skills.  Previous experience in using lookups/data manipulation would be advantageous, along with previous Sage 50 cloud payroll experience.

Candidates must be UK based with the Right to Work as this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
