As part of our ongoing work to raise awareness of veterinary public health careers, two of our National Technical Leads visited Nottingham University to talk to vet students about the opportunities available within this sector.
Georgios Kakarantzas, our National Technical Lead for Exports, and Patricia Gonzalez, our National Technical Lead for Imports, delivered another successful presentation and workshop to Year Five students at Nottingham University School of Veterinary Medicine. Their presentations are part of the veterinary public health (VPH) curriculum designed by Nottingham professors in collaboration with E&J, aimed at promoting VPH to British students and encouraging them to consider this vital career path.
Georgios and Patricia dedicated their time to educate the students on the importance of Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) controls and the critical role that veterinarians play in protecting consumer health and ensuring the integrity of national borders. Their expertise and commitment greatly contributed to the students’ understanding of the significant responsibilities within the field of veterinary public health.
The Nottingham professors, in partnership with E&J, are working diligently to raise awareness and interest in VPH among students, highlighting the diverse and impactful career opportunities available within this sector.
Many thanks to Georgios and Patricia for their invaluable contributions to the education and inspiration of future veterinarians and to our colleagues at Nottingham University for the chance to be involved.
